Scooby-Doo and his friends are at their best when they're solving interesting mysteries, and these films each have their own mysteries for audiences to solve alongside the gang-guaranteeing a good time for everyone involved.As Scooby-Doo got more television iterations, as well as some movies, Daphne developed as a character, and she became more palatable. Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster nabs the number one spot on this list because it takes on a real, long-standing urban legend while still letting young viewers imagine Nessie still might be out there somewhere. The footage shows faint glimpses of what appears to be the real Loch Ness Monster, and Velma admits that “maybe some mysteries are better left unsolved.” While the monster is eventually revealed to be a robotic contraption operated by a scientist who had staked her entire career on proving the existence of the beast, the film ends with the gang watching footage from a submarine camera that fell off during one of their encounters with the fake monster. When they arrive, Shannon informs them the castle has recently been terrorized by the Loch Ness Monster. gang travels to Loch Ness in Scotland to see the famous Blake Castle, home of Daphne’s Scottish ancestors and her living cousin, Shannon. This movie has big Indiana Jones vibes-a lost archeological historical treasure with a curse on it? A rival archeologist trying to take the big score for herself? Egyptian tombs, elaborate plans, impersonating Cleopatra, cursed amulets? What’s not to love? However, it is eventually revealed that Cleopatra is Velma in disguise, and the mummies are the other archeologists who were just trying to scare Von Butch and her team off. Velma and the gang go after Von Butch, but inside the tomb, they are met with mummies and a resurrected Cleopatra. The team warns Von Butch of a curse, which says all who enter will turn to stone, but Von Butch doesn’t care. Amelia Von Butch shows up to exploit the tomb. The gang goes to Egypt to surprise Velma, but then a rival archeologist and treasure hunter named Dr. Velma is restoring the Sphinx when she comes across an ancient necklace, and it is revealed that she and her team have discovered the tomb of Cleopatra. Additionally, supernatural or not, Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword is just a better overall movie the story is more interesting and cohesive. However, the specific cultural nature of the fantastical elements somehow gives them more credibility than the zombies, goblins, or immortal werecats mentioned in the previous films. To be fair, this film also has semi-supernatural elements to it, much like Zombie Island and The Goblin King. Scooby breaks the Sword of Doom with the Sword of Fate and frees the Black Samurai from his curse and saves Japan from destruction. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby have recovered the sister sword, the Sword of Fate, that was guarded by the Green Dragon, the warrior who originally imprisoned the Black Samurai in the Sword of Doom. The student releases the ancient power and tries to control it, but the Samurai does not obey. One of the students of the martial arts tournament impersonates the Black Samurai to steal a special scroll that reveals the location of the Sword of Doom, with the real Black Samurai trapped inside. gang travels to Tokyo for Daphne’s martial arts tournament, where they stumble upon the mystery of the Black Samurai who wields the Sword of Doom. Later it is revealed that Simone, Lena, and Jacques are werecats, worshipers of a cat god, and part of a group of settlers who lived on the island 200 years ago when Moonscar first arrived they prayed to their cat god to curse Moonscar and were transformed into immortal werecats, and every harvest moon since, they have lured victims to drain their lifeblood and preserve their immortality. Once they arrive in New Orleans, the gang meets a young woman named Lena who works on the haunted island along with the ferryman Jacques and Lena’s employer, Simone. to investigate an island that's said to be haunted by the ghost of the pirate Morgan Moonscar. The gang reunites after a year-long hiatus from Mystery Inc. Released in 1998 and the first of the straight-to-DVD animated Scooby-Doo films, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Islandtakes place on a bayou in Louisiana.
